Mr. Nayana N. Mawilmada, Founder and Managing Director

Mr. Nayana Mawilmada is a multidisciplinary professional with expertise in management, urban development, water supply, tourism development, housing, real estate finance and investment, tourism development, and project management. Nayana’s 15 years of international professional experience spans 16 countries, including the USA, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, China, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and the Maldives.  Prior to his return to Sri Lanka to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors, Nayana was an urban development specialist at Asian Development Bank in the Philippines, an advisor to the Parliament of East Timor through UNDP, and an urban planner and project manager at Sasaki Associates Inc. an interdisciplinary consulting firm in Boston. Nayana has also worked for Walt Disney Imagineering in California, the World Bank, the Harvard Singapore Foundation, and other international firms/organizations. Nayana has a Bachelor of Architecture from Hampton University (USA), a Master of Urban Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (USA).  Apart from his work at TMS, he serves as a visiting lecturer at the University of Peradeniya MBA programme. Dr. Sithara Atapattu, Director, Business Development 

Sithara is a multi-disciplinary professional with immense experience in project management, communications, workshop organization and research.  Trained as a coastal ecologist, Sithara has a BSc. In Environmental studies from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, and PhD in coral reef ecology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.  Her professional experience spans the management, coordination and administration of large scale international projects for International Water Management Institute (IWMI) as well as work as an independent consultant for international aid agencies.  Prior to joining TMS, she was deputy team leader for the ADB-funded Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Environment, which formulated Sri Lanka’s first National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. Sithara has a consistent research and publication record in both coastal ecology and integrated water resource management, and has  been a member of the Institute of Environmental Professionals of Sri Lanka since its inception in 2006.
